The San Diego Padres made a flurry of moves this offseason, but they targeted several more.

The Padres made "a strong offer" to the Miami Marlins for Luis Arraez, according to a report, and might have been even more interested in Jesus Luzardo.

San Diego's interest in Luzardo likely ended when they dealt for Dylan Cease in mid-March.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Joey Bart in a trade with the San Francisco Giants.

San Francisco will receive right-hander Austin Strickland in the deal.

Bart, the second overall pick in 2018, has hit .219/.288/.335 over 503 plate appearances since making his Major League debut in 2020.
